On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is our immense pleasure and honour to extend the warmest greetings to you all as we welcome you to Malaysia for the 7^th combined World Congress of the ASAMI-BR and ILLRS in 2026. This event represents a powerful convergence of two leading societies dedicated to advancing the science and art of limb reconstruction surgery. We gather not only to share the latest breakthroughs, research, and advanced surgical techniques but also to celebrate a shared history rooted in a story of remarkable ingenuity.

From the resource limited environment of Siberia, Professor Gavriil Abramovich Ilizarov pioneered a system that revolutionized our approach to the most complex musculoskeletal pathologies. Since the early eighties, tremendous advancement in various aspects of reconstruction surgery have improved both the patient experience and ultimate outcome of treatment by experts from all over the world. Currently the healthcare landscape of our world is still very diverse — from highly developed medical centres to regions where resources are still scarce. There is still a need for effective treatment for debilitating conditions like non-unions, severe deformities, and limb-length discrepancies.

During the congress, we wish that participants can build bridges of knowledge and collaboration through the insightful keynote lectures, dynamic workshops, and vibrant discussions. We encourage you to engage, question, and connect with colleagues from every corner of the globe.
